We have been working with the Teddington Trust in the last few months to produce two books, ‘Little Ted’ and ‘Little Ted Goes…’ – superbly written and illustrated books that help to educate children with xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), an incurable genetic condition that means sufferers could get cancer from sunlight.
We have worked with Nicola Miller, mum to 4 year old Eddison, who is one of the youngest people in the world to be diagnosed with this extremely rare condition. She was looking for ways to help educate Eddison in understanding his condition and, when unable to find any books, decided to write her own! Teaming up with book illustrator, Michael Howdon and ourselves, the first 24 books were sent out to South Africa last week to Camp Bush Baby – the goal being to provide a copy free of charge to all children within reach around the world affected by XP.
Not only will the children be receiving the two books but also a wonderful bear respendant in his protective clothing…created by Canterbury Bears.
